A manuscript evaluation focuses on the same story-level issues as a developmental edit, but you will receive feedback in a separate editorial letter instead of in-line comments in your manuscript document.

If you want help with your story as a whole and to know if your manuscript is engaging, you’ll need developmental editing. This level of editing focuses on your story overall and should be done before line or copy editing.​

During a developmental edit, I will look at your characters, plot, setting, pacing, and other story-level elements and provide you with specific feedback on what’s working and what needs improvement.
