Line Editing
Editing at the sentence and paragraph level
Line editing hones your writing's style and flow, focusing on how your sentences sound and how your ideas are conveyed.

Do the words you have chosen convey a sense of atmosphere, emotion, and tone? Do they have a precise meaning, or are you using clichés and broad generalizations?
Editing to enhance your words
In a line edit, some of the things I will be looking for are:
-
words or sentences that are either extraneous, redundant, or overused.
-
run-on sentences
-
scenes where the action is confusing or unclear
-
dialogue or paragraphs that can be tightened
-
changes that can be made to improve pacing or that may clarify or enhance a passage.

My goal in a line edit is not to change your voice, but to enhance your writing.

What to Expect
-
You send me your manuscript as a Word document
-
I will send back the manuscript with my edits and comments using Track Changes in Word
-
You will also receive a review letter that gives feedback on the manuscript and instructions on how to navigate the revision process
-
You will accept/reject my changes with track changes enabled, send it back to me, and I will incorporate your choices into the final version
